We recently welcomed Strength in Struggles into school for an immersive day with our KS2 pupils, and the whole experience was genuinely brilliant. Each session was thoughtfully put together and really got the children thinking about their own feelings and emotions in a way that felt safe, relatable and age-appropriate. They learned how to recognise what they’re feeling, why they might be feeling that way, and—most importantly—what they can do to handle tricky or negative emotions on their own, but also where to find support and to support each other.
What we loved most was how the day encouraged children to open up. It created a real buzz around school, with pupils talking about their experiences, sharing what they’d learned and having the kinds of conversations that can sometimes be hard to start—especially when it comes to asking for help or admitting they’re struggling. The sessions helped to break down those barriers in such a natural and gentle way.
The drama activities were a huge hit too. The children absolutely threw themselves into the role-play and practical tasks, and it was wonderful to see them practising the strategies with such enthusiasm. It made everything feel fun, memorable and meaningful.
Beck and Cath were amazing throughout. Their passion for what they do genuinely shines through, and it made such a difference to the atmosphere and engagement of the day. They brought warmth, understanding and positivity to every session, and our pupils really connected with them.
Overall, it was an invaluable experience for our children and one that has left a lasting impression and opened up important conversations that we hope will continue. We can’t wait to welcome Strength in Struggles back again soon. Thank you so much!
