Sessions usually last 30–90 minutes, with the client fully clothed on a table or in a chair. Recipients may feel warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of relaxation.

It is used as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medicine to treat stress, anxiety, pain, and support overall wellbeing.
